Hi! I’m Anika Amrikhas-Armstrong, a passionate and precise Toy Designer with a deep love for bringing concepts to life through my design work. As a gradueé from Otis College of Art and Design’s BFA-Toy Design program, I find joy in creating toys that spark happiness, education, and wonder in the hearts of both children and adults. Anything from character design and prototyping to packaging and vehicle, I love to get fully involved and immersed in projects, often finding more joy and sense of accomplishment seeing the final product after months of tedious, detailed work. I find the flexibility and fluidity of an evolving concept exciting, and I want to represent my critical thinking, attention to detail, and education-driven designs in doing so. Presentation and impression drive interest, and I excel at representing a company's core statements and branding through any work I do. However, born with a cultural blend, I embrace my heritage as an Assyrian and Japanese individual, inherently seamlessly infusing my designs and concepts with a diverse and vibrant perspective. Having a rocky childhood myself, and seeing the production decline in childhood-oriented media, my mission has always been to protect and preserve children’s spaces and those who still have the curiosity and whimsy to play, imagine, and wonder.
